Tecno Pop 7 was officially announced in March 2023 alongside Tecno Spark 10C, Tecno Spark 10 Pro and Tecno Spark 10. Pre Orders began on 28 March 2023 and the devices were made available in April 2023. It landed in Kenya in May 2023. The Tecno Pop 7 succeeds the Tecno Pop 6 as the top new Tecno flagship. The Tecno Pop 7 is a budget-friendly Android smartphone features a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels (20:9 aspect ratio) with a dimension: 163.9 x 75.5 x 8.9 mm (6.45 x 2.97 x 0.35 in). It has a glass front, plastic back, and plastic frame that is protected by corning gorilla glass. It is powered by MediaTek chipset processor. It has 64 GB internal storage (expandable via microSDXC) and 2GB RAM (eMMC 5.1).

The camera system has a rear camera of 8 MP wide (f/2.0, AF) with dual-LED flash and a front camera of 5 MP with dual-LED flash for selfies. It has a fingerprint sensor (rear-mounted). It is powered by a 5000 mAh non-removable battery with a 10W wired charging that runs on Android 12 (Go edition).
